By supporting this Memorial Committee’s vision, he, along with the rest of the County, has ensured that 9/11 First Responders from Westchester County will never be forgotten.” ![]() Again, we thank County Executive Latimer for understanding the sobering truth and reality that this memorial will continue to grow in size for decades to come. The collaboration between County Executive Latimer, his team and this Memorial Committee has had one goal from the beginning, to “Never Forget.” Unfortunately, we expect the number of names here to at least double in size by next year once we capture all that have been lost who are associated with Westchester County. First responders from eleven different agencies, including six from the City of Yonkers Fire & Police Departments and four from the City of White Plains Fire Department are among the initial 41 names engraved on the memorial being unveiled today adjacent to “The Rising.” We applaud Westchester County Executive George Latimer for recognizing that a memorial in the honor of those 9/11 first responders that resided and/or worked or volunteered for Westchester County Agencies and who lost their lives to 9/11 related illnesses was long overdue. McCauley said: “Twenty years after our first responders rushed to the disaster areas that were created in the wake of the Septemterrorist attacks, these selfless, courageous, brave and humble men and women continue to make the ultimate sacrifice from 9/11 related illnesses. This new monument, placed next The Rising at Kensico Dam Plaza, was designed by a committee made up of loved ones of those lost.Ĭommittee Co- Chair and New York City Police Officer Matthew J. The day prior to the ceremony, September 10, Latimer was joined by family members of those fallen for a private unveiling of the newly furnished Westchester County 9/11 First Responders Memorial. The solemn occasion was then marked by the laying of a wreath by Deputy County Executive Ken Jenkins, Department of Emergency Services Commissioner Richard Wishnie, Lisabeta Vukaj – sister Of Simon Marash Dedvukaj who was killed in the north tower – and a member of the Westchester County Department of Safety Police Honor Guard. This moving tribute was followed by a rendition the Star Spangled Banner performed by New York Presbyterian Lawrence ICU nurse and Mount Vernon resident Carlo Jose “CJ” Zenarosa. The ceremony opened with a procession Westchester County Department of Public Safety Ceremonial Unit Color Guard, the Pipes and Drums of the Police Emerald Society of Westchester County and representatives from the NYPD and FDNY. I am truly honored to be taking part in the ceremony in Westchester where I live, and where so many families were impacted.” Solis said: “As a reporter who covered the attacks on 9/11, the 20th anniversary has special meaning. The County’s ceremony, emceed by ABC7 Journalist Marcus Solis, marking the 20 th anniversary of 9/11, once again hosted at the breathtaking Kensico Dam Plaza was a service filled with powerful remarks, moving prayers by Reverend Erwin Lee Trollinger, Imam Shaffieq Chace, & Rabbi Howard Goldsmith, comforting music provided by SUNY Purchase, sadness, but also, hope. ![]() I hope this ceremony can both provide comfort and a reminder to all what occurred on that seemingly normal September morning on which the world was changed forever.” Now, twenty years later, this day must also serve as a lesson to those too young to remember. Perhaps you had an early or additional scan because of spotting, pain or bleeding, or just a sense that something wasn’t right. I wanted that to be the benchmark when I could tell everybody. You might have been full of excitement about seeing your baby and looking forward to sharing your news, as Tina was:Īs we got to the 12 week scan, I was looking forward to it. The diagnosis of a missed miscarriage can be very shocking, especially if you had no indication at all that anything was wrong. You might hear that called ‘early embryonic demise’ or the old-fashioned term ‘ blighted ovum’. The embryo has either not developed or it stopped developing at a very early stage and been reabsorbed by the body. ![]() In some cases, the scan shows an empty pregnancy sac or no clear sac at all. With a missed miscarriage, the scan picture usually shows a pregnancy sac with a baby (or fetus or embryo) inside, but there is no heartbeat and the pregnancy looks smaller than it should be at this stage.Īfter taking lots of pictures I was told ‘I’m sorry there is no heartbeat, the baby died at 9.5 weeks’, so it was a missed miscarriage and my body thought I was still pregnant. However it might also be seen at a non-routine scan, NHS or private, whether or not there are any symptoms. The scanĪ missed miscarriage is often diagnosed at a routine ultrasound scan, whether around 12 weeks or at the 20 week ‘anomaly’ scan. Four weeks in which I was marching around with a big smile on my face. Nurses told me the baby probably died around seven weeks, four weeks before I realised anything was wrong. There often is no way you could know, except by having an ultrasound scan. In the first few weeks of the second trimester, it may be too early to feel the baby kick so without any bleeding or pain, you are likely to assume all is well. Pregnancy hormones may continue to be high for some time after the baby has died, so you may continue to feel pregnant and a pregnancy test may well still show positive. While many miscarriages begin with symptoms of pain and bleeding, there are often no such signs with a missed miscarriage. ![]() Sometimes that delay may be a matter of days, but it might take several weeks. ![]() It’s not at all clear why some miscarriages happen within days of a baby dying and others take much longer before the pregnancy hormone levels drop and the physical miscarriage begins. Where ‘k’ is the spring’s constant expressed in N/m. Work done to stretch the spring to the distance x equals the potential energy stored in it. According to Hook’s law, the force required to stretch the spring is directly proportional to the amount of stretch ‘x’ i.e. For instance, energy stored in a stretched spring is elastic potential energy. Potential energy is the form of energy possessed by an object because of its position. Where ‘m’ is the object’s mass, and ‘v’ is the speed with which it moves. This energy is called the “kinetic energy” of that object, and it is given by: As a result of work done, some energy is transferred to that object, as a result of which it starts moving. To move an object, we need to apply a force ‘F’ and do some work ‘W’ on that object. Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by the object due to motion. Work-Energy PrincipleĪccording to the work-energy principle, the total work done on an object or system equals the change in kinetic energy (K.E.) of that system. Work done by a constant force is equal to the product of the magnitude of the force and the distance covered by the object in the direction of the force. Newton’s second law of motion, also known as the law of force and acceleration, states that net force applied to an object is directly proportional to its mass ‘m’ and acceleration ‘a’ produced due to that force. Editors retrieve a clip by clicking on the file, similar to working with other documents. Media is uploaded to the computer, saved as digital files, and organized into bins, the post-production term for folders. These software programs gained traction in the early 1990s, and revolutionized post-production by making editing faster and easier. Seafood Options- If you opt to add seafood on the already flavorful mix of your Chop Suey, the best options would be shrimps, prawns, scallops, squid, and mussels. The ones made here in the Philippines usually include pork or chicken liver, chicken heart, and gizzard. Pork, beef, and chicken being the most favored ones. Meat Options- there are also several meat options that you can choose from. On this recipe, I also used Pak Choi and Sugar snaps freshly picked from my backyard garden. Vegetable Options- You can use leftover vegetables on your fridge that needs to be cooked soon or harvest them fresh from your own veggie garden! The most common vegetables used for this dish are cabbage, carrots, onions, celery, bell pepper, cauliflower, broccoli, garlic, young corn, mushrooms, beans, bamboo shoots, and bean sprouts.
